Sad bus ride
I was carrying the bulky Newsweek box filled with my files and semi-torn textbooks (due to stressful handling) home today. When I boarded the bus, well, as expected, members of the bus ride somehow stared while I walked to the back where an empty two seater lay appealingly to my aching legs. I managed to squeeze my totally full (Also with textbooks and files) bag and box such that I occupy 3/4 of the seat or so.
When the bus steered its way into the crowded durian scented Geylang road, a middle-aged man with spiky hair sat beside me. I tried to move in more to allow more space for the man, but to no avail. Moreover, the guy just sat down with his arms crossed, not giving a thought about it even though his legs were in contact with mine. I wasn't in much discomfort either, just that I thought it would be better if he sat just a little further.
Then later down the ride, strange things begin to scare me.
For instance, when the bus reached somewhere near Macpherson Primary, I felt something touching my left arm. I turned and saw the man's left hand's fingers in contact with my hand, and well, as the bus moved along, it slid up and down very slowly and shortly. At first, I thought he might have fallen asleep and shook to the movement of the bus. However, I noticed that his fingers were moving slowly too, as if "stroking" my left arm... I tried to shake that thought off me, so I tried my best to keep my hand away from his. I did so. But soon later, his fingers were touching my hand again. And again, I noticed the moving fingers.
WTF.
Then, I notice his fingers going lower and lower down my hand near where my pocket is. Another thought struck me: He might be trying to get at my valuables in my trouser pocket. So, despite being rather lethargic after the day's activities, I focused on my pocket.
Well, his fingers din slid anywhere near there.
Good thing, I was nearing my bus stop. So I hurriedly stood up and walked away. The man slanted his body to let me pass.
I felt rather stupid and gay when I alighted the bus. As I glanced to the man in the bus through the clear windows, I noticed the guy was staring at me also.
Bastard.
Ok I may be over reacting. For instance, I dun really believe in the fact that guys will have the desire to touch 16 year old guys on the bus. Its just, too gay for me to imagine.
So the guy might be unintentionally doing so, because I occupied 3/4 of the seat.
And well, he might have really dozed off in the bus, as I did not dare to look at his face directly to tell.
And in the end, he could perhaps coincidently looked at me when I looked up.
So... I don't know. Next time I make sure I take up 1/2 a seat only.
Anyway, thanks to Wanting for taking the pics for interclass...
